road trip update!
Still on this epic road trip! In San Francisco right now, just checking my mail and giving faucet a couple more hours to sleep. Here’s what’s been happening:
- After arkingarts vetoed Portland and most other urban stops (once we were already underway), we’ve mostly been driving on relatively remote back roads, and almost only stopping if he sees a bird he wants to take a picture of. This is not quite what I’d been planning to do, but it’s definitely been an adventure.
- Also arkingarts strictly prefers never to stay in motels (also contrary to pre-trip discussion) so we’ve been sleeping at rest stops and WalMart parking lots, even when it’s a little cold. Accordingly I’m super grateful to faucet for letting me crash at his place (and also shower at his place) once we got here.
- Definite highlight of the trip so far has been Yaquina Head park. There were seals there! Tons of them! So awesome.
- Currently trying to figure out what I can do in San Francisco on Presidents’ Day because I didn’t know today was a stat holiday until faucet told me last night. Would be super grateful for any suggestions. Also if any of you are within transit range of San Francisco and want to chill then let me know as soon as possible!
- Also since arkingarts is feeling really antisocial right now I’m looking at flights back to Vancouver just in case he decides he doesn’t want to let me ride back with him. Excitement.
Anyway yeah that’s what’s been happening lately! This has been an epic road trip for so many reasons.
