Goldman Sachs has a placement test that helps you figure out which positions to apply for
Because I know some of you are economics majors, and consider Goldman Sachs to be your sworn enemy, but also would like to be paid money for your economics skills afterwards. Apparently it’s an absolutely fascinating place to work. And if you get hired but you feel super unethical about it, then just donate basically everything you make to charity and live in a three-bedroom apartment in distant suburbia with five roommates. Problem solved!
It told me I’m best suited for investment banking, “global investment” research, and fixed-income, currency, and commodities trade. So that’s kind of cool, I guess. Not going to lie, I will probably be applying when I’m closer to finishing up the PhD if prospects for academic jobs don’t look great.
