I am totally out of groceries
And I’m pretty much too hungry to function. But I’m hesitant to go buy anything because grocery shopping while ravenous tends to lead to dubious grocery purchases. Argh I am not a functional human being.
Question for the Paul supporters. We all know he won’t get the nomination, but...
– thegayrepublican, via JasenComstock: Last nights debate.
Oh my goodness I just blacked out a little from excitement because this would be exactly the type of total financial collapse that’s this tumblr’s bread and butter.
Is it bad that I actually think this would be sort of amazing,...

It also looks larger than the average bill (i.e. too cumbersome for dealing drugs)
That’s because this was back in the days of Real Freedom when drugs weren’t illegal and everything was just like the Constitution intended. Ron Paul 2012.

A guy who’s always at the coffee shop got stabbed later that evening. He’s 71 and apparently not in very good shape. So that’s effing horrible. Hope he’s all right. Fairly certain I’m going to find a new place to go at night.
Also CBC just filmed a whole segment just outside the window from where I’m sitting so I’m definitely going to be on the news...

Last of new homes now in Attawapiskat, government... →
Trucks bearing the last of 22 long-awaited new homes rolled into the Attawapiskat First Nation in northern Ontario on Thursday morning, according to a statement from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Nothern Development.
The government said the homes will be ready for families to move into once the community completes the necessary foundation work and installation of the modular homes on...

who wants questions?
Having a hard time getting back into economics research mode after the road trip - even though I’m currently consuming around the LD50 of caffeine for my body weight. Figure some Internet procrastination would enable this. Let me know if there’s any topic area you would or wouldn’t like.
As always, also taking questions - although probably more of the...
Stocks Return More With Democrat in White House:... →
shihtzuman:
While Republicans promote themselves as the friendliest party for Wall Street, stock investors do better when Democrats occupy the White House. From a dollars- and-cents standpoint, it’s not even close.
What a meaningful statistic this would be! If the US economy consisted solely of the expected short-term returns to capital enjoyed by the 500 largest publicly-traded companies in...

Yeah everyone thinks I have sex with everyone. What’s up with that?
Dashboard friends, faucet and I just went to bars and drank heavily. There was absolutely no sex. He met a tiny and friendly ginger with amazing hair and I was hoping they’d hook up but that didn’t...

Publications owned and operated by the corporate right will continue to attack Chavez because his policies are successfully helping Venezuela and curbing corporate power.

However -...
Venezuelan bonds surge as Chavez heads into... →
Mr. Chavez, who has been running Venezuela into the ground for the past 13 years, still insists he will contest the next presidential election in October, which will feature a credible opposition candidate running on a platform borrowed from Brazil’s successful, market-boosting socialists.
The bond market’s early bet is that Mr. Chavez’s political prognosis is poor. Even if he prevails in the...

Yeah I couldn’t help but roll my eyes a little about how every single one had money earmarked for kindergarten education and adorable puppies and so on. Even the ones that sounded eminently sensible (e.g. creating a new higher tax bracket) had so...

back in Vancouver
The return trip was basically uninterrupted driving, so that was a little interminable. And then I had to help arkingarts address some roommate issues which took an hour or so. Now I’m on transit home.
Had a great time and it was awesome to meet faucet and all. Will post pictures when I get home as right now my phone battery is about to die.

I’m coming to San Francisco on friday for a week. If you’re still there we should get drinks or something.
That would be awesome!
However if I am leaving with arkingarts (who made me clean all my stuff out of his car this morning, and then drove away, and I don’t really have a good way to contact him, so no idea what’s...

road trip update!
Still on this epic road trip! In San Francisco right now, just checking my mail and giving faucet a couple more hours to sleep. Here’s what’s been happening:
After arkingarts vetoed Portland and most other urban stops (once we were already underway), we’ve mostly been driving on relatively remote back roads, and almost only stopping if he sees a bird he wants to take a picture...

road trip mode
This tumblr is going into road trip mode. Not sure how often I’ll be able to update, nor really what our route is going to be like, nor when we’ll be back. So that is somewhere between exciting and terrifying! Anyway, if you happen to be anywhere between Vancouver and San Francisco and want to meet up then askbox me and we’ll work something out.
Until then, updates will be...

Probably, yeah. Our trip is minimally planned, because AA prefers it that way and I am trying to be relaxed too. Trying really, really hard. Deep breaths. It’s okay that we haven’t booked hotels. I usually plan any trip I go on like an Apollo...

Obama Should Decline to Nominate the Next World... →
As soon as the World Bank confirmed Wednesday that Robert Zoellick will step down as president this summer, the tussle over who should succeed him began.
The Obama administration, abiding by a decades-long custom, says it expects to name the replacement. That custom has outlived any semblance of propriety. The White House should think again.
For seven decades it was accepted that a...

It seems like some lonely bitter shut-in on the Internet referred to feminists as Nazis. Obviously this deserves all the scorn and derision in the world, because comparing a social movement whose members you disagree with to genocidal tyrants is absolutely ridiculous.
